BFFs

No apologies for this. As a policy, we shy away from unabashed cuteness here at Range Life. But this is just too good to not post.

Thanks to Cathy, we've actually been following this Tennessee elephant sanctuary for some time. There's an elephant cam. You can watch them all day. It's oddly calming. But this story about an elephant and her strange friend is just too much. Watch it and feel really good for a few minutes. You deserve it.

It's great to see cross-species friendships like an elephant and a dog. As a kid, every once in a while I had the chance to go to my neighbor's friend's farm. My neighbor's golden retriever was "friends" with the horses on the farm. She would get so wound up before going to the farm. One time, my neighbor, Nancy, told "Goldie" that she couldn't go to the farm. That golden started crying and looking visually depressed. She kept it up until Nancy told her she could come along and see her friends.
When we arrived at the farm, the golden made a mad dash for the horse coral. It was obvious from the playful greetings between "Goldie" and the horses that they were good friends who needed to chase each other around for a while. NO rough stuff, just stretching the legs.
